Actor Vikrant Massey, riding high on the success of his latest film, "The Sabarmati Report," has announced his decision to step away from acting at the age of 37. In a surprising revelation on Monday morning, Vikrant shared that he plans to conclude his acting career in 2025, expressing a desire to "recalibrate and go back home."
In an emotional note posted on Instagram, he stated: “Hello, the last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your unwavering support. As I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and return home. As a husband, father, son, and as an actor.”
Vikrant confirmed that 2025 will mark his final screen appearance, stating, “So, in 2025, we will meet one last time until the time is right. Two upcoming movies and countless memories to cherish. Thank you once again for everything and all that lies in between. I am forever indebted.” Reports indicate that he is currently working on projects titled "Yaar Jigri" and "Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan."
Vikrant completed his education at R.D. National College and made his acting debut in the series "Dhoom Machaao Dhoom" in 2007. He went on to appear in popular TV shows such as "Dharam Veer," "Qubool Hai," and "Balika Vadhu." His film debut came in 2013 with "Lootera," co-starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha. Since then, he has featured in several notable films, including "Dil Dhadakne Do," "Half Girlfriend," "A Death In The Gunj," "Chhapaak," "Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare," "Haseen Dilruba," and "Love Hostel."
In 2023, he played the lead role of Manoj Kumar Sharma in the biographical film "12th Fail," which became a sleeper hit and significantly impacted his career. Vikrant married actress Sheetal Thakur in 2022 after they began dating on the set of "Broken and Beautiful." In February 2024, he joyfully announced the arrival of their son, sharing on Instagram: “07.02.2024. We have become one. We are bursting with joy and love to announce the arrival of our son. Love, Sheetal and Vikrant."
